Preparing for the Tiger's Nest hike
What the walk feels like, what to carry and how we adapt the day to your comfort.
The hike to Paro Taktsang is rewarding rather than technical. The main challenge is the steady climb at altitude, so an unhurried pace matters more than speed.
Comfortable walking shoes, water, sun protection and a light layer are usually the essentials. Your guide will help set the pace and build in time for rests and photographs.
Not every guest needs to follow the same plan. We can adjust the turnaround point, arrange a horse for part of the ascent where available, or suggest a gentler cultural day in Paro.
